Knox- 7 months

Knox, Knoxer, Knoxie, Bubby is 7 months old! This last month has been so much fun. We have been home much more than we "normally" would be this time of year and it's been so much fun with Knox. He laughs and squeals and rocks on his tummy while kicking his legs when he's excited. He's started saying "dadadada" and his Dada melts into a little puddle every time. :)

We enjoyed an outdoor and distanced Thanksgiving day in Sabetha this year for Knox's first Thanksgiving. He devoured his pureed sweet
potato and carrots.

Naturally, his sisters got in on the photo shoot as well. They adore him. He likes to show his affection by pulling their hair. :)

Knox- 6 months

Well, I'm a week behind and that is pretty representative of this last month. Whew! What a quick month is was and what growing and developing our boy has done! He is officially rolling from his back to his tummy (finally)- I haven't actually seen him do it live, but in the monitor I've seen him on his back and then later on his tummy. It's funny that he's been so resistant to learning that. He's sitting for about a minute at a time and is rocking a lot on his tummy. He hasn't gotten on his knees yet, so I think we have a little time before crawling, but I'm sure it will be here before we know it.

Knox is a great sleeper and eater. He has just about devoured any new food he's tried. He sleeps well and does really well with a schedule. He loves his fox lovie and I love that Knox has a Fox. :)

Knox has also started laughing- really more like squealing- and interacting a lot with his siblings. He grabs hair -eek- but he really just wants you in his face and close enough to chew on. :) We all are having so much fun with him and are thankful he's such a happy guy. He had his first cold and really handled it well. He might be teething- but who really knows that until those little babies pop through. Church nursery is a little hit-or-miss, but hopeful he'll adjust and be nice- haha. :)

Sisters wanted to get in on the photo shoot too. :)

Knox- 5 months

Here we are at 5 months already! Knox continues to be a happy healthy little guy. He is growing like crazy- 6/9 month clothes and size 3 diapers. He outgrows the width of his clothes before he outgrows the length. Since we can't go to high school games, we haven't been to a football game yet, but he has been to several of his big brothers' soccer games. This last month Knox has discovered his toes and feet and has started to laugh when being tickled. He still only rolls from tummy to back- once he's on his back he's like a turtle. He also is still a thumb-sucker. He is my alarm clock every morning at 5am, but goes to bed at 8 so it really is good. He had his first taste of oatmeal and took some good bites, but I wouldn't say he loved it. Knox nurses 5 times a day and has started to babble a lot and squeal really loudly. He brings a lot of joy to the whole family and we sure love every roll of him. 😍

This is a blanket my grandma Flossie made. 💓

Knox- 4 months

This last month flew by and Knox is 4 months old (he's surprised too)!

Knox is a pretty easy-going baby. He lets us know when he's tired and hungry. In the last month he started rolling from tummy to back only and he sleeps on his tummy in his bed now too. He has started sucking his thumb consistently, which is new for this mama but it's pretty handy! It's been fun for all of us as he's almost laughing and smiling/interacting a lot more.

The last three weeks at church, Knox has had a blow out. He doesn't have them frequently, but he saves the big ones for church.

I have forgotten to write down in other posts about him that he has the softest neck and back of the head ever. He feels like a brand new puppy. It's the best. :)

Height- 24.5" (18th percentile)
Weight- 17#9oz (86th percentile)

Knox really likes his biggest brother's British accent. It usually brings a big smile.

Knox- 3 months

Knox turned 3 months a couple days ago, or as Eli reminds me he's one quarter of a year. In the last month Knox has really started talking, cooing, and smiling much to all our delight. The big siblings adore trying to get him to smile. He wasn't showing off for us when I was taking his pictures, but he normally has an easy smile.

This past month, Knox has found his thumb and it seems like he may continue to use it. He will be our first kiddo to do so if he continues. I think he'll soon move to his bed as he's growing and we'll probably transition out of the swaddle soon. He's still sleeping through the night and takes some good naps during the day. He seems like he's getting closer to rolling over too, but we'll see. He really just likes laying around.

So far Knox's temperament is pretty chill. We don't go near as many places as we normally do at this point with a baby due to covid, but we did have our yearly get together with our Colorado friends and it was a blast. They came here and Knox was held almost the entire time. :)

Knox- 2 months

Knox is 2 months old! He is such a sweet baby and is so adored by all of us! When he's doing tummy time, there is at least one kid laying beside him encouraging him and cheering him on. We've gotten a few smiles in the last week or so and we all are big fans of that!

In the last month, Knox...

-has started sleeping through the night!
-had his baby dedication at church (on Father's Day) with much of his extended family there.
-has started cooing, talking, and melting our hearts while doing said things.
-gives us smiles on occasion. He's still a little stingy.
-size 2 diapers and size 3-6/6 month clothes. He's a big boy!
-made his first trip to Sabetha.

Stats:
Height- 22.5" 25th percentile (not sure how accurate his length is)
Weight- 14lb 4oz 90th percentile

Knox- 1 month

Knox turned one month on Wednesday. He is a great baby who gets hugs and snuggles ALL through the day. As you can see in a bit, everyone gets a turn and wants him to sleep in their room- that hasn't happened. :) He gets called Knoxy-Foxy, Bubby, and SO ADORABLE (by his biggest sister).

His temperament seems pretty laid back so far. He is a good sleeper most of the time and tends to take a long afternoon nap which is nice for mom. He usually wakes up once in the night to eat.

There's not much to report in terms of where we've been and what his firsts are, because we've pretty much stayed home due to covid19. However, we've had special friends and some family come to meet us at our place. We're getting close to venturing out soon as we're hoping to go meet our newest cousin in Sabetha. She and Knox are exactly 4 weeks apart.

Lana is 2

2! How has 2 years already passed with our Lana. She is such a funny and fun girl. She calls herself Lani and so we all do too for fun. She loves to run and sing. She's oh so ornery and loves to make us all laugh. Her facial expressions alone make us laugh. She also does so by making funny faces and doing funny dances- especially at the supper table.

Lana has developed quite the vocabulary in the last few months. I feel like since we moved, she really has grown up a ton. She likes to play with her babies and often says they are poopy. She also likes to look at books both independently and likes it when someone reads to her. Eli has been a big helper with this lately.

3 days before her birthday, Lana became a big sister. I'd say she is navigating it really well. She sometimes wants mommy to "huggy Lani no bae bruther" (hold Lana and not brother) but does a pretty good job of being patient until mom can lay him down or pass him to someone else. She loves to give him hugs and kisses.

She loves her blankets and takes the corners and rubs them by her eyes, between her fingers, and toes. She takes naps almost completely willingly- sometimes putting herself down after lunch. Lana can be terribly stubborn and naughty at times, but is quick to apologize and get back to business. She is independent and doesn't want to be left out. She keeps up with her siblings in almost everything.

We love our Lana Mae and love watching her grow and develop. Can't wait to see what God has in store for her future!

Height: 36"
Weight: 30lbs.
