Haddie- 18 months

Today Haddie is 19 months, so naturally I am getting around to posting this.😊 We sure love our baby cakes, HadJoy, sugar pie. 💜

It's been a big month for little miss. She is walking primarily and started doing that right at 18 months. She eats well now and really has no issues related to food- Praise God! She still receives services every other week, but we are mainly working on words and communication. She loves Jo (our therapist) and loves playing with her. Haddie has several words in her vocabulary and mom is working on not asking yes/no questions so she has to use them.
I was trying to get her to smile and said "where are your buttons?" thinking the ones on her dress. She was thinking her belly button.
Haddie has really started "mothering" in the last month. She often is found carrying a baby or stuffed animal and pats or shushes it. It's the sweetest thing.

She still has a wicked side-eye and isn't real fond of people unless mom isn't around. Even though she is pretty reserved, she has started giving hugs and kisses to people she loves and will play with others even if mom is in the room- just don't try to hold her too much.😋
Side eye
She likes clothes and shoes "shoooooz". She tolerates me doing her hair, but it's not her favorite part of the day. She's really come around to swimming and water this summer and likes to splash. And if daddy is on the floor, she likes to sit on him.

Her brothers still dote on her and love her dearly, but occasionally I've started hearing "mom, Haddie is trying to ruin.... or Haddie is being mean..." She says "eye-eeee" for Eli and we're still working on Micah. Their newest thing is if we're not in a hurry at a story, they like to each take a hand and walk with Haddie. It's slower than molasses, but it is precious.

Please Please, can we be done?
She still is terrified of animals. She LOVES singing. She can carry a tune and since I'm her mom, I can tell she is trying to sing Old MacDonald and the ABCs. You can even make out a few letters. She also just sings to herself as she's playing. The boys never did any singing at this age that I recall.
It's blurry, but I love her face!

Family Vacation to Florida

Our family went on our first family-of-five vacation to Santa Rosa, FL. It was wonderfully relaxing and beautiful. We all enjoyed the white sand, clear water, and time catching up with dear friends. Aunt Estey- Brent's sister- came with us and braved the looooong car trip with 3 kiddos. We met our friends (the Lynches and Packs) from our pre-kid years in Tahlequah and shared a house with everyone. The house was a block from the beach and the picture above. So perfect for our young family.

And we're off to pick up Aunt Estey!

This is the look Haddie had for us most of the way down. "For real, we're not there yet?"

Eli colored the states as we drove in them.

(Just missing Nora because she wasn't too happy...but...)

Matt brought her out on the balcony to take a photo- she wasn't very appreciative but it is documented.

Haddie did much better on the way home than on the way down.

We went to Laurel, MS on the way home to visit the Lauren Mercantile Co. (From the HGTV show Home Town)

The boys made themselves right at home.

The way home...his patience had obviously waned a bit. :)

Micah is 3

Oh Buster, you are 3. You are such a ride. You love and dislike fiercely. You love the color green, Paw Patrol, your new "jet pack water gun", sweets, getting into mischief, lining up your stuffed animals just so before bedtime followed by three blankets in correct order, Bugs Bunny, your friends (Brah and "Bucket" and Grace...).

You are people-oriented. Every night when we thank God for something, you almost always thank Him for people. I love that about you. You list those people and almost always list yourself and a few others multiple times..."Mom, Dad, Eli, Me, Haddie, Me, Mom, Daddy, Eli, and Me, Amen".

When you're excited about doing something you have a little chant that I'm pretty sure you made up. It goes, "Oh yeah oh yeah, we can do this!" in the cutest voice.

Your whole body feels it when you feel you're treated unfairly.

Your two Bible sayings right now is "We can call Jesus God because Jesus is God" and "You and me an Eli and Daddy and Haddie, God made us from DUST".

You have very expressive eyes and eyebrows.

In public you are much more reserved and get embarrassed easily. When you're embarrassed you put your tongue in your cheek and try to hide. Sometimes it's after you've done something funny or cute and as soon as people react, you regret it.

By some miracle, you know your letters.

You are very observant- especially with books- noticing the picture details that sometimes mommy overlooks.

You're fiercely independent and love to be able to make all the decisions. Once mommy figured out that it's best to let you get your own bowl and spoon for breakfast, our mornings have gone much smoother. If you're in charge of something, you're also very generous.

At bedtime (or really anytime) when I say "I love you" you respond with "I love you way more" with your eyebrows lifted and bright eyes. We love you way more, Micah. You are such a joy to have a part of our family. We are thankful God saw fit that He would give you to us. We love YOU and we're excited to see what God has made you for. I have a feeling it will be ministering to His people somehow.
