3 Months

Our little guy turned 3 months old on Tuesday of this week. I took his pictures, but have not had time to get them on here until today. After I took the pictures I realized that I went a little crazy with the blue thus making Eli look like he was blue. Just so you know, he isn't. He looks pretty normal. :)

The day before Eli's 3 month milestone he started rolling over. I still have not been able to get a video of it because anytime the camera comes out he just smiles and coos and doesn't want to roll over. One of these days I'll catch it. :)

I know, I know...Texas Longhorns?? Let me explain. My uncle and aunt are really huge Texas Longhorn fans and they like to buy cute outfits for the great nieces and nephews. This is one of them. In the past when I have put Eli in this outfit he has pooped on it (maybe because he prefers the Jayhawks). Anyway, I heard that Uncle Gary was not feeling well so I put Eli in his Longhorn outfit to take a picture to help Uncle Gary get to feeling better. I took the cute one you see above (where he is smiling). Then I sat down to upload the picture and I looked back at Eli and he was on his tummy! I was so surprised. So now that he is rolling around I can't swaddle him. I have tried, but he always gets out. So we're back to what feels like square one on sleeping. It takes him awhile to settle down because he can move around now. Oh, and he has continued to suck his hands and occasionally his thumb when he can get it but continues to take a paci. Our little guy is just growing up! We love him so much.

Milestones

Eli is starting to try to roll over as pictured below. He never has rolled all the way over (onto his tummy), but he is getting closer and closer every day.

Also, he has started sucking his thumb. Not all the time, but you can see I was able to capture a picture of it, so it is probably inevitable. I always thought he would be a thumb sucker because he has always sucked on his fist. Now he has finally found what he was searching for! :)

Husband-Wife Conversation

This is a rare post that has nothing to do with my adorable son. It is actually a conversation that Brent and I just had. I was folding laundry during the Wichita State game and noticed a few pairs of Brent's underwear that were ready for the rag bag. A little bit later Brent was ripping the elastic off of his rag underwear. I said "are you just doing that for fun"? He said "no I have some shorts that need new elastic". I got a good laugh and if you know Brent, you are laughing right now too.

Jesus Paid It All

We sang this song on Sunday and although it has always been a favorite of mine, it really got to me. Have you ever paused to really read the lyrics? I love singing hymns but sometimes since I know them well I pay more attention to the notes instead of what I'm really singing to my Savior. So, here are the lyrics for you to enjoy and ponder too.

Jesus Paid It All
Words- Elvina Hall
Music- John Grape

I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small,
 Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy pow'r and Thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim;
I'll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calvry's lamb

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

And when, before the throne,
I stand in Him complete
Jesus died my soul to save,
My lips shall still repeat.

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
